Seventeen Stay Time Concealer Review

I recently bought this from boots for £4.49 as my current under eye concealer was running out and I don't really like using my collection concealer unless I have really bad bags under my eyes as I find it to be really heavy and under my eyes I prefer a lighter product. So whilst I was in boots I saw there was an offer on for seventeen products so I thought I would try this out.

This comes in a tube like most concealer's with the normal applicator which I really like as it's really easy and convenient to apply. I bought this in very fair as I wanted it to lighten my under eyes as I don't have terrible dark circles under my eyes but they still do need a bit of coverage. I like how easily this is to blend so even though it is lighter than my skin colour and foundation it's super easy to blend out so it looks more natural.

It claims to have up to 18hr stay time I'm not sure it would stay 18hrs as I've never tried it but it does normally stay on me for about 12hrs which I think is pretty good for a concealer, however as I only use it under my eyes I'm not sure how long it would stay on the rest of your skin, but I am thinking of just taking this on holiday so I guess I could test it then. It does claim to be full coverage but I'd say its more medium as I have tried ones which have quiet a lot more coverage.

Thanks for reading let me know if you've tried this and what you thought of it!

Random July Favourites

1. The Only Way Is Essex
This is a bit of a guilt pleasure for me and the only reason I watch it is because I find it hilarious, all their 'dramas' but on a Sunday night I do enjoy watching it whilst getting ready for the week ahead and it is really easy to follow so you don't have to really be concentrating it while you watch it.

1. Walking on Sunshine
I have also recently done a review on this which you can read here, but I really enjoyed this musical as it was just such a feel good film and was full of songs from the 80s that I love. I also liked how the storyline was pretty simple so it was easy to watch and you could just sit back and enjoy it.

I finally watched Frozen after hearing people go on and on about how amazing it is and seeing it sat on the side for weeks me and my family finally found time to watched it and I am so glad we did because it was fab and definatley worth the hype it had!

1.Paper Towns by John Green
I am a massive John Green fan as you may know and this book didn't fail to disappoint I really liked how this book was a bit different to the normal books I read which I think is why I enjoyed it so much. It also has a really good storyline which keeps you hooked in and makes you want to keep reading, which is what you need in a good book.

1.Walking On Sunshine Soundtrack-
As soon as I got back from the cinema I started listening to the soundtrack on Spotify and then decided to buy it on iTunes and I am so glad I did as I have been loving listening to this all the time especially when I'm getting ready, don't know why but it's really easy to sing along to.

2. Wanted On Voyage by George Ezra
After weirdly my Chemistry teacher saying how good George was I must admit I was slightly intrigued as to what he was like so I started listening to him and kind of got a bit addicted! Especially Budapest which is a big favourite of mine and also currently my ringtone.

3. Love Is An Open Door from Frozen
So when I watched frozen I don't know why but this song really stuck in my head and have now consequently bought it and have been doing a fair bit of listening to it! I just love how easy it is to sing along to and just a 'happy' song.

1. Summer Fruits-
As summer is now in full swing I have been loving all the summer fruits that have come into super markets, especially strawberries I don't know why but I've been loving strawberries at the moment especially the waitrose ones as they are so nice and sweet!

1. More Marcus-
Marcus has recently been daily vlogging since Vidcon and have really been enjoying watching what he's been getting up to especially as he is recently moving out so I've really been enjoying watching his process of moving out.

2. Pointless Blog TV-
Alfie has also started doing more vlogs and I just love Alfie I think he seems like one of the most genuine down to earth people ever and always puts so much effort into his videos and never wants to disappoint his subscribers.

July Beauty Favourites

I am currently writing this in the middle of July but as I am going away for quite a while in the summer I have had to write blog posts in advance so I can schedule them to be posted whilst I'm on holiday. But, even though it was only a couple of weeks ago I did my June favourites I have rediscovered a few new products.

1. Sudocrem (£1.99)
This might seem a bit weird as this is most commonly known to be used on baby's bums but it isn't actually it's only use it can also be used on spots to help reduce them and get rid of any bacteria. I normally apply this on any spots or soon to be spots in the evening and then when I wake up in the morning it has completely sinked in and by the morning the spots or blemishes a normally either gone or are a lot smaller. (I actually lost mine so couldn't take a picture of it!)

2. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Shell (£8.99)
I recently used up my current BB cream so found this in my collection and decided to start using this day to day as its a really light foundation to use but still gives coverage and can easily be built. I really love using this in the summer as when it gets hot you don't want to have layers of makeup on and this is super light and easy to wear, it also has SPF 15 in so its perfect for the warmer days.

3. The Body Shop Body Butter in Passion Fruit and Papaye (£13.00 each)
I recently went shopping with my Mum and saw these 2 full size body butters for £10 which was a bargain as they're normally £13 each, but my Mum also had 40% off so I got them both for £6 and saved £20! I have also fallen back in love with these as recently I've been using more lotions but you can't beat a good body butter, these smell amazing and leave your skin so smooth for about two days.

4. Original Source Mint and Walnut Body Scrub (£2.65)
I have been loving using this scrub recently it's not too harsh on my skin but has enough bits in that it does actually scrub my skin, it also contains tea tree which has really helped to clear up my skin and it smells so nice! I have been using this everyday as it's gentle enough to use everyday and is also really refreshing after a long hot day at school.

5. Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer (£7.99)
As the weather has been getting a bit hotter recently in England I have been getting slightly more tanned especially on my arms and neck so to match my face with this I have just been using this bronzer on a big fluffy brush just to warm up my face. I really like this one as it's not to orangey and looks really natural on my skin with out going streaky.

6. Superdrug Witch Hazel and Deep Sea Mud Mask (£2.59 each)
I recently did a review of the witch hazel mask which you can read here, but I am completely addicted to these they make my skin feel so nice and is definatley any spots or blemishes I have. These have also motivated me to use them every other day alternatively and I have definatley seen my skin improve since I started using them. They also are super cheap and come in lots of different types for all different skin types so I definatley recommend you try them out!

Thanks for reading let me know what your beauty favourites have been this month.

Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder Review

I recently bought this as my Rimmel Stay Matte was running out and after going through several of them I thought I would try something new, even though I've regretted it in the past this time I didn't. I saw this was only £3.99 and thought that sounded good value and had heard some good reviews of it so I thought I would try it out myself.  My skin is combination to oily so I need a powder that keeps the shine at bay but doesn't stick to any dry patches I may have and I've found this really works for me.

The powder promises 16 hr shine control which may be true if you have normal skin but for me powders only every last a few hours, this one lasts me til probably around 1/2pm after applying it at 7am and being at school all day, so it does pretty well. It also says to have a soft matte finish which I completely agree with it leaves me with a really smooth base to apply cheek products that can then glide on.

The shade range it pretty limited but with powders you don't often need to have the exact colour as I have it in ivory porcelain which I think is the palest but comes out pretty translucent, as my skin is getting more tanned I do find I need to use a bronzer to warm up my skin. The product is also in a nice matte black packaging with a mirror and a sponge so is really useful to put in your bag or to take travelling.

The powder is also very finely milled so it doesn't cake on your skin which is great, even if you apply it with a sponge it still looks fairly natural on your skin, however if you do just want to wear this and concealer you probably could build up the coverage if you tried.

Thanks for reading, let me know if you've tried this and what you think of it, I still can't decide whether I prefer this or my Rimmel Stay Matte, tough choice!

Beauty Review: Superdrug Witch Hazel Mud Mask

I was recently in superdrug and I spotted they had bought out a few more of there face masks in tubes, which I find so much better value than the packets as they last so long. I picked up this one for only £2.59 for 75ml instead of the packets 99p for 10ml! I bought this as I do tend to get a few blemishes, I don't have acne but I do often have a few spots which I am always trying out new products to try and reduce them.

This mask has witch hazel in which is meant to be really good for spots and it also contains salicylic acid which is also very good for targeting spots and blemishes. It also contains deep sea mud which deeply cleanses and reduces excess oil, so it really has everything perfect for a teenage girl with 'acne-prone' skin. Also, after watching Caroline Hirons video I found out clay is a very cheap ingredients so if you want a clay mask you don't have to spend much.

When I apply it depending on a, how much time I have and b, what my skin is like, depends whether I apply a thick or thin coat, when you first put it on it feels quiet cooling then on the areas where I have spots or blemishes it tingles slightly which I like as it makes me feel like it's actually doing something! Then I normally leave it on until its dry which can range from 15-30 minutes depending on how much I applies and rinse it off, still buffing it into my skin with a flannel. It leaves my skin feeling really smooth and super clean after wards which I love, it makes me feel like my skin has had a really deep cleanse.

I think it has actually helped to clear up some of my spots a lot quicker and does definatley get rid of any excess shine I may have after a long day at school. I also like how its in a tube packaging as its really easy to take on holiday and also is a lot more hygienic than a pot, if you clean the top after using it. I also like that superdrug is against animal testing and their products are paraben free.

I also have the cucumber peel off mask and the deep sea antioxidant mask, so if you would like me to review those as well just let me know. Thanks for reading and hope this was useful!

Random June Favourites

1. One Tree Hill-
I am currently watching One Tree Hill from the very beginning as I've seen a few of the later episodes and have always wanted to watch them all from the start and I finally am doing. I love the storylines they have and even though its over 10 years old I still love it. I you like 90210, Gossip Girl etc. then you'll love One Tree Hill.

2. I Wanna Marry Harry
This has recently been on ITV2 every Wednesday at 9 in the UK and is about a man who looks very similar to Prince Harry and has been made to look even more like him and is put in a mansion with 12 American girls who haven't been told he is Prince Harry but they all think he is. Each week one is eliminated and one gets to stay in the Crown Suite. I just really like it and find it really funny how serious they all get about it!

1. The Fault In Our Stars-
I think this is a given for me I have done a full review on it which you can read here, but honestly it is one of the best films I've seen in a long time and I think it's almost as good as the book, which is incredible. It had me crying from the end of Amsterdam I won't say exactly which bit as I don't want to ruin it for anyone!

1. You're The One That I Want By Giovanna Fletcher-
I have also done a review on this book which you can read here, but in a nutshell this book was amazing it's about two boys and a girl who are in a love triangle essentially and its not just the typical story you'd expect from that it's a lot more complexed than that.

1. The Fault In Our Stars Soundtrack-
This came out before I watched the film and I was listening to it on repeat and now after the film I've been listening to it even more, it has some really good songs on it and has even made me find my next favourite. The style of the songs on the soundtrack is the style of songs I've been really loving at the moment to listen to.

2. Jake Bugg by Jake Bugg
I discovered Jake Bugg after listening to The Fault In Our Stars Soundtrack as he has a song on there too, I have heard him before on the radio but I never really knew who he was and I am currently listening to his album as I type. He's got a very similar style to Ed Sheeran but with a bit of a twist and I am just in love with his voice!

1. All of The Stars by Ed Sheeran-
This is the official song for The Fault In Our Stars and just fits to the movie so well, I know it was written for the film but all of the lyrics I think are just perfect for the movie and if I really listen to the lyrics and watch the music video it does make me cry!

2. Do I Wanna Know? by Arctic Monkeys-
I don't know why but I have been loving this song so much recently it has like a really heavy beat which isn't something I'd normally like and its very 'loud', I think I like it cause it's so different to anything I normally listen to.

3. Bonfire Heart by James Blunt-
Another song from a few months ago but I think when songs are played on the radio a lot I really get into them and this song has such a catchy tune that I just can't help but sing along to and who doesn't like a bit of James Blunt?!

1. Water-
This might seem a bit of a weird one but over the past couple of months I have been really getting into drinking water and know I drink about 2-3 litres a day and also have a really good app to track the amount you drink! Drinking more water has made my skin clear up so much and it also just makes me feel a lot better, I always have half a litre of water every morning and I feel it really kick starts my day!

2. Sunbites by Walkers-
I have been loving these crisps at the moment as I think they taste nicer than normal crisps and are wholegrain and have 30% less fat which is really good, they also have 5 different flavours which are all delicious. I think they're a really good idea if you're trying to cut calories but don't want to give up crisps.

1. Vivianna Does Makeup-
Recently Anna has been doing weekly vlogs showing us what she's been getting up to in her week and I have been completely addicted to them its normally about a 10 minute video including her week her boyfriend Mark is also in them and he seems really nice. She also edits them really well so they are really sleek and easy to watch.

2. Dolly Bow Bow-
I have been loving watching Kate's videos at the moment as she is pregnant with a little boy and still has amazing content, I love how she has such a range of videos so there's something to suit everyone  and she is also so pretty!

3. MoreZoella-
Through June Zoe has been doing daily vlogs and I have been completely addicted to them they are all fairly long which I really like and I find it really interesting to see what she does in her daily life and seeing all her friends and family through out the vlogs. Her apartment is also incredible and her vlogs have made me really want to visit Brighton!

1. Water Your Body-
This is what I use to track how much water I drink a day you can chose any size cup 100ml or 1l to add each time you have a glass and then it just shows you a total and from your weight and height it gives you the amount you should be drinking, it is then all put on a graph to track what days you have the most water and shows you your average. You can also set alarms on their telling you when to have a glass of water, I don't use them as I don't always have my phone but if you do I think its a great idea.

Thanks for reading let me know what your random favourites were this month?!

Film Review: The Fault In Our Stars

I have been waiting for this film to come out ever since I read the book, as the book was so amazing I was kind of apprehensive as to whether the film could meet the standards set, but I think they have. Like most film adapted books they missed out a few parts of the book, which I would have liked to have seen but I understand they can't fit everything in.

I loved the starting of the film as it had a voice over by Hazel which was something not many films do but it was really effective way to have the watcher captured from the start and I didn't expect them to do it. Instantly you meet Hazel and her parents and I think they are exactly how I imagined them to be from the book. I think the way they introduced each main character was really effective as they came in one at a time, giving the watcher a clearer view of who they are.

Even though it is probably the saddest film I've ever watched, had me crying from the end of Amsterdam, they also have some great humour in their through out the whole film even towards the very end when most people around you are crying! They also had some new modern 'film' features which I really liked, having text messages and e-mails come up on screen. A few reviews I had read before going to see it said the film was just trying to make people cry and I completely disagree with that!

Many people are confused about why this book was so hyped up but I don't think you can judge it before you've read it or watched the movie. I think it really capture cancer it a more positive light and also shows how its not just black and white, they have also managed to keep everything so accurate as to how cancer actually is.

One of my favourite parts of the film is the support group, mainly because they have real cancer patiences in it, which I think is an incredible idea and made it seem so much more realistic, than just a room full of actors. Another favourite scene of mine is in Amsterdam when they are having dinner in the restaurant I just think they filmed it really well and it show Gus and Hazel's relationship change. Over all my favourite scene has to be when they are on the plane on the way there!

Over all this film is amazing and I recommend this for teenage girls mostly but I think anyone could watch it and enjoy it, but make sure you do take tissues as you'll need them. Definatley is my favourite film I have watched so far this year, now I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. If you've been to see it let me know what you think? Thanks for reading.

Book Review: You're The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher

Giovanna Fletcher if you don't know is Tom Fletcher wife from McFly, who I love, and is an author, last year she wrote her debut novel Billy and Me which I loved and was the sort of girly romance book that I can't get enough of and both of her books are up there with my favourite books! You're The One That I Want is a story about  a girl Maddy and her two best friends Ben and Rob and the complications with their friendship.

The Blurb-

Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob -  the man she's about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben - best man and the best friend any two people ever had

And that's the problem.

Because if it wasn't Rob waiting for her at the altar, there's a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive, Ben has always keep his feelings to himself, but if he turned around and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?

Best friends since childhood, Maddy,Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it.

I think this story shows a very different side to a love story and how its not always black and white, I also think its really original as a lot of the romance books can often be very repetitive but this one I think is new and shows the side of friendship turning into love and the complications it bring. She has also slightly linked her two books together as she mentions Billy Busking and his movie in this book which I think is really clever and such a good idea!

Through out the book Rob's speech is inserted in little sections ending with Ben's best man speech and it begins one Rob and Maddy's wedding day and then goes back to when they're nine and have first met Maddy and shows the connection they all had right from the moment they met. Each chapter alternates between Ben and Maddy and what they are thinking and feeling, also giving different perspectives on what is happening in their lives and what they think of one another. You never know Ben's feelings but I like that as otherwise I think it would get way to confusing with 3 character views, even though he doesn't have his own chapters you get to know him just as well through Ben and Maddy's chapters.

Over all I think this book was amazing and I definitely recommend it's pretty close but I probably prefer this one to her last one, but know I'm going to have to re read Billy and Me. If you've read this let me know your opinion on it!

Real Techniques Brush Collection

This is pretty much my makeup brush collection as apart from a couple of random brushes I only use real techniques brushes, as I just find they have everything I need they're really reasonably priced and so much easier to get than any other brush brand I know of. They are synthetic which I don't mind and they are super easy to clean and and dry pretty quickly too. The way I am going to tell you about them all is I'm going to go through each one individually and tell you what I use it for and how much it is and if its from a set etc.

Powder Brush £10.99-
This is one of my more recent purchases but one of my favourites, for me I find this perfect to apply my powder with as it's so fluffy and big it just always the application to be a lot quicker and easier in the morning. It also applies the powder really lightly as it doesn't pick up too much product each time so therefore doesn't cake once its on your face. This one is a bit of a pain to wash as its so big, but you can't have everything.

Blush Brush £9.99-
This one was the first brush I think I bought from there and  used to use it for everything, even powder now it just seems tiny, but it has a slightly tapered tip so find this perfect to apply bronzer with as it can really get into your cheek bones. This also works really well to apply blusher with as it stops you from getting to much product on so super useful if you want to wear a darker blusher.

Expert Face Brush £9.99-
Again another more recent purchase and I use this one to apply my foundation and concealer with, I normally swap this one each day with the buffing brush as they are both pretty similar, except this one has  slightly shorter bristles so is a bit more denser. Which makes it really good to apple cream blushers or bronzers.

Buffing Brush (from Core Collection) £20.99 for 4-
I use this alternately with the expert face brush for my foundation, I find this one a bit easier to blend with as the bristles are slightly less dense giving you a bit more movement with the brush, so if I need to blend out my bronzer or I have a line around my face I'll use this as it works so well.

Pointed Foundation Brush (from Core Collection) £20.99 for 4-
I use this sometimes for my concealer, especially under my eyes as it kind of fits perfectly in the under eye area and with a kind of patting/blending motion it works really well with my under eye concealer to cover up any dark circles

Brow Brush (from Starter Kit) £20.99 for 5-
This one I use everyday with my eyebrow shadow just to fill in a bit and this works really well to get the natural effect I like for my eyebrows, it also has a really pointy tip allowing you to be more precise.

Deluxe Crease Brush (from Starter Kit) £20.99 for 5-
I find this way to chunky to use for eye shadow as I feel it can get really messy and you can't get the precision you may need, but this works really well for concealer especially with the collection lasting perfection concealer they cover any blemishes so well.

Contour Brush (from Core Collection) £20.99 for 4-
I don't use this as often only every if I am going out and what to really contour my face precisely, sometimes I'll use it to highlight or to add any extra powder under my eyes or on any where I have used concealer.

Base Shadow Brush (from Starter Kit) £20.99 for 5-
This one I absolutely love using for eyeshadow and could kind of do with another one as for my eyelids it just fits perfectly and gets the right amount of product on the brush it also is really good for blending or getting right into the crease.

Pixel Point Eyeliner Brush, Accent Brush and Detailer Brush(from Core Collection and Starter Kit) £20.99 in sets-
I put these three together as I didn't have much to say about them as I rarely use them, sometimes I may use them to get a more precise concealer or if I use an eyeshadow as an eyeliner, but apart from that they kind of just live with the others not doing much.

Hope liked this what's your favourite real techniques brush and what ones should I get next? Thanks for reading.

Film Review: Edge of Tomorrow

Last week me and my Dad went to the cinema and I had a choice of Mallificent or Edge of Tomorrow, so I watched the trailers and they both looked really good but I thought I'd pick the Edge of Tomorrow as it's a more sci-fi action film which is definitely not the normal film I'd go for, but I honestly really enjoyed it. One of the things that made me want to see it was that Tom Cruise was in it, I mean who doesn't like Tom Cruise?

The film is based in the near future and without giving the plot away Tom Cruise keeps relieving the same day every time he dies until he essentially saves the world. And that's a super brief description but if you want more detail I'd watch the trailer. In the film there is also a slight romance story going on which I really liked and it was kind of an extra story as a bit of a side line, showing the different relationships between the different characters. One thing I thought they did particularly well was keeping the watchers attention through out the two hour film and seen as he was replaying the same day over and over the producers managed to keep whoever was watching it completely hooked, as I quiet often get distracted through films and then get really confused after day dreaming for 5 minutes. The actors were all also incredible and even the characters with smaller parts were still really good, as I find sometimes in films they can focus so much on the main characters they forget about the actors with smaller parts.

I would definitely recommending anyone going to see it even if your like me and don't like sci-fi action films cause it really is great. Let me know what you think about me doing film reviews as I'm not really sure if this was okay or not I kind of just wrote what came to mind! I am also going to see The Fault In Our Stars next week which I will definitely review if you would like me to as I'm am so excited about it!

Raspberry Crumble Muffin Recipe

This recipe is one I got from a cupcake recipe book and have slightly changed it too what I prefer, but I love these muffins they're fairly sweet from the raspberry and I love the crumble crunch on top which just makes them a bit nicer. It makes 12 but they are pretty big muffins so you could probably make 20 cupcakes.

For the crumble topping-
50g Plain Flour
25g Butter
2 tbsp. Caster Sugar

280g Plain Flour
1 tbsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Bicarbonate of Soda
Pinch of Salt
115g Caster Sugar
6 tbsp. Sunflower Oil
2 Eggs
250ml Natural Yogurt
 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
 150g Raspberry's

12 Muffin Cases

1. Preheat the oven to 200oC/400oF/Gas Mark 6. Fill a 12 hole muffin tin with cases.

2. To make the crumble topping add the flour to a small bowl, then add the butter rubbing it in with your finger tips until the mixture becomes like fine bread crumbs. Stir in the sugar and set a side.

3.To make the muffin mix add the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt and sugar to a big bowl and stir.

4. In a large jug beat the eggs lightly then add the yogurt, oil and vanilla and beat it.

5. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and pour the beaten liquid in with the raspberries, mix together gently until just combined.

6. Spoon the mixture into the muffin cases and sprinkle the crumble mix over the top, gently patting it down. Then put in the oven for 20minutes or until golden brown.

7. Take out of the oven and leave to cool in the tin for 5 minutes then remove and either eat warm or leave to cool and store in an air tight container. You can also freeze them if you don't think you'll eat them all.

I hope you like this quick and easy recipe I haven't done one in a while so thought I would write this one as it's such a nice recipe, thanks for reading!
